The Reykjavik EDITION brings the first 5-star modern luxury experience to one of the world’s most sustainable capitals. Located in the historical, scenic heart of downtown Reykjavik by Old Harbor port, the hotel is a 45-minute car ride from the airport and just steps away from the Laugavegur Street, the city’s vibrant shopping district, and the Harpa Concert and Conference Center. The hotel is the perfect jumping off point for exploring the wonders of the region, with the renowned Blue Lagoon within driving distance and the Northern Lights visible in the city during the winter solstice.
The hotel boasts a variety of distinctive food, beverage and entertainment outlets including alfresco dining to enjoy the panoramic views of the waterfront and the city. HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Capturing the EDITION’s approach to laid-back luxury, each of the 253 rooms and suites, including a spectacular 6th-floor Penthouse with panoramic views, have been designed as cozy retreats. Warm palettes of ash wood and pale gray oak are embellished with bespoke furniture, copper details, faux fur rugs, and artwork and accessories from local craftsmen. The monochrome bathrooms are sanctuaries of their own, with enclosed rainfall showers and standard custom Le Labo toiletries. Some rooms have their own outdoor terraces, while most have their beds facing floor-to-ceiling windows that frame various views of the surrounding neighborhood.
A Vibrant Culinary Hotspot
The Reykjavik EDITION further boosts the Icelandic capital’s lively nightlife scene with an impressive line-up of restaurants and bars. Among these is a rooftop destination with scenic views, a vibrant lobby lounge, an intimate cocktail bar, a nightclub, and a first-of-its-kind social spa. On the ground floor, with its own harborside entrance, Tide is the latest offering from Michel-star chef Gunnar Karl Gíslason and offers a seafood-focused menu of modern Icelandic cuisine using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. For something more casual, the adjacent grab ‘n go café serves coffee alongside a selection of fresh pastries and sandwiches.
